Your GSR NOTICE of upcoming Event!
All are invited to our 3rd Toys For Tots car show December 5th at Fanning Springs Historical Park from 11am-3pm. Join us along the scenic Suwannee River where U.S. 19 crosses it in Fanning Springs. It’s open to all classic, custom, and special interest vehicles, registration is FREE. We’d appreciate a donation of new, unwrapped toys of all sorts or cash donations for the kids. 100% of it goes to Toys For Tots, not just the profits. Again this year Steve and Paula are donating everything to put on the show.
Be sure to bring your fastest valve covers to race and get your arm limbered up for corn hole tossing. Music, 50/50 drawing, door prizes, and just after dark the Christmas boat parade. Win the 4’ tall Best Of Show trophy and decorate it for your tree.
We’re planning the day as normal as possible but please be respectful of others concerning the virus, thanks.
For more info call Steve Smyrski at 727-422-0787 or email Dana at itzaluks@outlook.com
Thanks so much if you’d help spread the word about our event. We’re getting a late start due to uncertainty about the virus, hopefully it will remain ok to have the show. We’re looking forward to seeing those who can make it and wish everyone at GSR a wonderful Holiday Season and 2021 has got to be better. Thanks again, Dana Sheffield

    - Deep Staging will be honored; drivers wanting to deep stage need to have “DEEP” on both side windows of the car/truck.
    - First round “potential” bye run will be determined by the best reaction time from the second qualifying run. If the potential bye run has to run a competitor, the potential bye will have lane choice. Bye runs DO NOT carry over.
    - The class MAY be laddered for second round (based on between rounds time); ladder would be based on round one winner’s reaction times (positive reaction times closest to .000 will be laddered #1, #2, etc. Any red lights go to the bottom of the ladder; the more negative the red light is, the further down it goes). If we don’t ladder the class from round two onwards, it will be run by random pairing.
    - Any lane choice questions (remaining competitors in one lane / waiting the same lane, etc.) will be determined by coin flip.
    - Any entries that lose in competition may join the test and tune to make additional runs at no charge after 2nd round of eliminations is complete.
    Vehicle rules:
    - Cars / trucks / left steer roadsters okay. No motorcycles / dragsters / center-steer roadsters. All vehicles must be left-steer position.
    - Any front / rear suspension allowed.
    - All engines and power adders are permitted.
    - Any exhaust set-up / exhaust exit is permitted.
    - Any interior set-up is permitted.
    - All drive axle(s) must use a drag radial or slick (no standard street tires on drive axle/axles).
    - Wheelie bars allowed.
    - Transbrakes, 2-steps and electronic/air-shifters permitted.
    - Delay boxes / cross-over boxes must be unplugged and removed from vehicle.
    - Mechanical throttle stops / restrictor plates permitted (cannot be adjustable during a run and/or from the driver’s compartment). No electronic / pneumatic throttle stops permitted.
    - Tech director has final say to keep participants in "spirit of rules."

  • Covid-19 May Shut Us Down For Now, But Can't Hold Us Down Forever!!

As you are reading this, I'm sure it's safe to assume that clearly you've seen, heard, and ingested about all you want to hear about coronavirus, or COVID-19.  I am with you on that note, so I will keep this short and sweet.

This epidemic/pandemic, has turned into a real pain in the rear for car enthuthiast everywhere. Car shows, shut down, races cancelled, fundraisers shut down. Intense social distancing. It's a nightmare coming true. It has definitely changed the way we move forward as well, and am curious to see how that all plays out in the near future. I wanted to let everyone in the club know, that as soon as we can get back to a somewhat normal reality once again, we will resume right where we left off, and try at least to have some sense of normalcy back in our lives haha. Of course, while practicing safe distancing.

Amongst you all being safe and practing safe social distancing, I hope that you have had at least an opportunity to enjoy your mustang in some way shape or form. Even more so, I hope that you all are doing well. So with that, I bid you all well, and hope everyone the best.

If you need to reach out for any reason, please feel free to email me at swampcitymustangclub@gmail.com

    -Marc
